I once thought I was helplessly addicted to this game. Couldn't wait to wake up and collect piles of cash then send my minions to work.
But with
1) no land left to buy, and more money than I'll ever need
2) updates that offer only a few days of gameplay progression
3) repetitive, meaningless tasks just to keep people occupied
AND
4) unresolved crashing issues
I can honestly say that my interest is waning. Though Burn's Manor was cool, what the hell is this Pimento Grove nonsense? Not even a task associated with it? Even the Retirement Castle has tasks.
Even the forum has become a lot of endless criticism for how others a) play the game, b) use the forum, or c) struggle with English as a second language. And now "derailing" topics has become popular.
I doubt I'm the only one that feels this way.
Its boring I have so much empty space and so much idea's but i cant do anything I keep playing because i havent finished the storyline and kept all the buildings, im hoping by the time im finished the stability is fixed so i can continue playing- What?!?
Nobody with a "There is already a thread about this, if you only use the search function."
You people disappoint me. - Add me??????
- Try starting over with a different philosophical approach to you game.
- Maybe you could try this method?

It's for people like you bored with the game.
I also suggest total reconstruction of your town, or even creating a Springfield version replica of some sort of city/landscape/movie. I've seen people do walking dead (although not full town-- you could definitely create your entire town to replicate the map of walking dead), cities under water, cities held under a cult prison camp surrounded by water with little access and rows of brown houses as "authority fortesses" or refugee camps.... There are endless possibilities. - Most players will eventually "catch up" with the game. Whether you lose interest at that point will vary among players. As some of the other posters have mentioned, one possibility is to take a new approach to the game, usually based on city planning... but others have focused on themed tasks for their characters, staging great screen shots... Compared to other
App Store games, I'd say that TSTO is above-average in the potential for creative play that it affords caught-up players.
The boards here have long featured a mix of wheat and chaff, and differing opinions on which bits are which. - Not to say that I lost interest per say, but this recent update was somewhat of a let down for me. I understand that it was just a minor one and we should get the next one soon, but I really did not like the idea that they continue to keep the snow in the game longer than neccessary, all of my friends/family who plays this game agree that they are getting tired of the snow cause it makes it more difficult to design your town the way you want it, and while its nice to have a storyline with a new character (Smithers) the storyline is sometimes such a cheap and rushed effort and it gets kind of annoying having to wait around to see who you will have to wait for the next task (such as Burns, then Wiggum, then Burns)
I also feel that EA (while they have done a great job with this game) are a bit lazy with being a bit more original. Please tell me why the celebrities cannot dine at the Pimento Grove (which was the reason of that restaurant from the series) and why Krusty does not have a task to record the Krusty Show?
I do hope with the next "big" update, they give us some refreshing in game options, such as a job log that can help us better keep track of what the characters are doing rather than sitting there swiping forever just to try and find a single character (be as it may they are roaming around somewhere or in some random house/building) and the option to put away characters that walk around with no tasks (I am not bothered by it so much but it would be a nice option)
But I have not given up hope yet, all I really do is put all of my characters on 24 hour jobs per day and all I need is to save up enough money to buy more land, but I rarely go on it as much as I used to (mainly cause I am so sick of the damn snow lol) cjcccooper wrote:
