- I'm not really any of them options, because I'm freemium but I wouldn't laugh at the premium players, I'd be gutted about the game ending for myself and feel bad for them!
- I sure hope it'll last forever, and my kids will heritage my SF...

As long as it is a money making spin it will last.
Zactly. :)- The game will last as long their contract with Fox/Gracie Films for The Simpsons says it can. There might be a specification in the contract that they can't include new characters after the contract ends, they might be allowed a certain grace period to include new stuff but they are still beholden to the contract.
I believe it will last until 2016, maybe 2017. By then the novelty will have worn off and the next trend in gaming will have hit. efin98 wrote:

Shh you on the last part :P.
I still wouldn't mind seeing a Simpsons MMO though....not the topic but still would be nice.- It May last until the TV series ends which could be next season, season 26 or it could be season 30. It really depends if people by then are still interested and coughing up money for doughdough. I feel like that in the year 2016 around June/July the game will end. Maybe there will be a TSTO 2, you just never know. :)
- Interesting poll, as I pondered this very question a few weeks ago right here in this very forum. I myself have been a premium player as I have been since Saint Patrick's Day a couple years back and have spent a few hundred myself. I'm worried that eventually the limit to which our own devices can run TSTO will be breached, what with the constant adding of new buildings, characters and decorations.
Everyone asks for more land, but can our android and ios devices be able to handle the extra strain? I get strange graphical glitches myself like inverted buildings appearing where the brown houses should be and characters where fence lines should be now... And I'm running on a iPad 4. Will we all be forced to eventually upgrade to keep playing the game?
Sure, The Simpsons are timeless, but programming is constantly improving... I'm scared that eventually the code that TSTO will be considered obsolete and maybe (hopefully!) if they *do* anticipate having to take the game down for massive recoding or retooling, they'll warn us enough time in advance or if they decide to create a whole new The Simpsons app experience they let us hardcore dedicated players in on a premium package (but I doubt that's likely because $$$ makes the world go round)
Here's a link to my last post about what I thought of the possible discontinuation of the game... For those interested in reading my ramblings...
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/10084576.page#32729041 - You need to take in count that the devices that this game is on do not have unlimited space.
Sooner or later the game will be so large that it is rather impractical to play on a handheld device. - I would not worry about the end for a while. I mean I think this game could last at least another year if not much longer. With all the simpsons episodes they have almost endless content to give us and it is still making hide profit for EA. My friend said he thinks it is going to end in the next five months since it went down in profit. Which is true but its still the 12th top grossing app! Imagine how much money that is! Dont get me wrong EA would drop this game in a heartbeat if they started to lose profit but if it is making them money they are not going to stop.

I thought about this and I think eventually EA should make a pc version of tapped out that will be able to handle more stuff and if you want to play on your tablet/phone then you still could but it might lag a bit.
