- Love for him runs deep with The Simpsons folks so he won't be in the game until they agree that it's OK to add him...and the way they were talking about him I can't see him being added anytime before the 20th anniversary of his death.
- They retired his characters years ago, don't count on it.
- I think we will get his characters but they definitely wont be voiced.

Are you rolling your eyes because you don't like that his characters won't be voiced or that someone said the obvious again for the benefit of the people who don't know?
Now to get on topic: IF and this is a big IF there was going to be a celebrity voice in the game it would be his and it would only be to get his estate some money. No other reason other than to benefit them, because there is no reason to include his voice.lyle_catcliffe wrote:

He said "definitely". That's one of the top few words that should never be misused. See also: perfect and literally.
He's a celebrity voice, there are very few if any scenarios where the creators would break the rule and allow his vocal tracks to be used in the game. It's about as close to definitely as you can get.- Any true fan of Hartman would want the characters to remain retired since they were done so out of respect for him. I'm not so selfish to think that TSTO should put them in simply because I want them to.

I know the likelihood. He cannot say for definite tho, hence the "eyeroll".
fair enough, it should be "almost definitely" so he has a little wiggle room...lyle_catcliffe wrote:

May I introduce you to this, then:

Released in 2002. Four years after Phil's untimely death.
not only that both Lionel Hutz and Troy Mccure still appear in the comic not to mention Lionel Hutz had a few cameos and non speaking roles in episodes after his death
I'm not holding my breath for Troy McClure or Lionel Hutz, but I would be thrilled to see them because they are great characters.ephphoneapps wrote:

Yes, because no one else could voice them like him. Much like the retirement of Edna Krabappel. I don't think it's fair to say that someone who wants these characters in the game are not fans of the late great Phil Hartman. We love the characters in part because we're fans of the actor.lyle_catcliffe wrote:

They also have a Lionel Hutz one & they are also both voiced.

I also want to add my two cents to all the people claiming that the Phil Hartman characters will never be in the game. 1st of all, where is your proof to back up these statements? Do you guys work at EA, or at Gracie Films? Or do you have inside knowledge or family/friends that are developers for the game?
Second of all, just because they are retired from the show does not mean that they won't appear in any other media. The pictures above are action figures that were produced by Playmates in their "World of Springfield" line. Both characters were voiced in Phil Hartman's voice & said plenty of lines. Like Lyle already mentioned, Both figures were made years after Hartman's death. Also the characters have appeared in comics & as background characters in episodes after Hartman's death.
Third of all, the Monorail has been rumored to appear in Tapped Out & in sure it will bring Lyle Lanley with it. Who is one of Hartman's characters
& not to mention a fan favorite.
If Playmates had no problem securing rights with Gracie Films & Hartman's estate. Then surely EA, who has a much better relationship with Gracie Films will have no problems getting the Hartman characters in Tapped Out. I'm sure they'll be un-voiced. But none of us will care just as long as we get them period. Plus there's the dialogue, which is good enough for us.
