I've bought every event scratcher for this reason. It's five dollars for a bonus set of donuts and can be looked at as supporting the game. If the event is good and you like it, then buy a scratcher. If you didn't enjoy the event, then don't buy one. I just spent fifty earlier this month because I slacked on farming. But yes, five dollars a person goes a long way when there is a quarter million daily players (rough guess).
I purchase donuts on a regular basis as I get many many hours of enjoyment out of it, in fact I really wouldn't like to add up how much I've spent over the years, it's only rarely that I purchase the scratcher as I don't tend to get the best of luck with them so tend to purchase the fixed ammount of donuts, I must admit that I spend a bit less these days though.
