Where would you like to have desert badlands?

Is an iPad Air 2 considered an "older device"? Because my husband just got one, and I get the same lag with that as I do with my Nexus 7 and my Samsung Galaxy SIII ... By which I mean, if I visit a heavily-decorated town and it is laggy on one device, that town lags the same on all of them. (Frankly, the old iPad 2 loads those towns just about as quickly as the new devices ... which is to say, not quickly at all. )
So I honestly think that adding more decorations to the limit is going to tax even the new devices. I'm still under 6,000 items in my main town, and it takes a long time to load, whether it is just to login to that town directly, or to visit it FROM a low-level town with no decos at all. :(
Well in Apple terms it is an "older device" as there are 2 newer versions out there (iPad Pro, and recently announced iPad Pro 9.7). But typically the iPads have a longer life than the phone counterparts. I would say the non-"Air" versions are really more the 'older devices' meaning the original 1-4 iPads (gen 1, gen 2, etc).
The lag and the decoration limit seem to be the biggest hindrance of TSTO right now. I don't know if this is all tied to the device and it's power, but perhaps it could be tied to your internet speed. If you have like AT&T Uverse or something, the internet will be weak off the bat. I know places like Comcast are trying to test out with data limits, so that could also be a factor as well. As those heavily decorated towns will be consuming lots of data. I have an iPad Air (1) and I only see some lag on select neighbors. But then again, I barely visit as the time it takes outweigh the rewards.
