Jungle Living and Desert Living

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if we would get another location based EP. I really like City Living, Island Living, Cottage Living, Horse Ranch and Snowy Escape so I was wondering "what if we get another one around jungle? or the desert?"

I know we already have Jungle adventure, but that one mostly focuses on archeology and going on vacation in a jungle to explore it. My idea is more focused on "living" in the jungle.

These are the features I imagined for both themes, let me know what you think about them:

I think an Africa base world could work with a Congo and City vibe. I would definitely want wild life animals in this pack.

I was actually inspired by Costa Rica for the rainforest but Congo work so well too

Yes, I really would love a country boarding the Sahel too. The pack could actually include a "stop the desert" aspiration too, it would be a reference to the great green wall being built right now in several countries.

So both could give us two african worlds actually

I love the worlds in Cottage Living and Horse Ranch, especially the neighbourhoods that are "in town". Like, a mini-open world. I love having residential lots and being able to walk to the grocery store. These two do it better than Eco Lifestyle, which is just a bar. I can't imagine they'd do another desert, what with Oasis Springs in the base game, but I do love Oasis Springs. Even a refresh feels like a reach. I'd have been interested in a mountain-side village, but I don't like the constant winter of Snowy Escape and I'm not interested in snowboarding gameplay. I want more dense neighbourhoods.

  • Would love if they give us another world inspired by the amazonian jungle, but make it livable. Something to bridge the space between Ciudad Enamorada and Selvadorada. Maybe they could add small  planes as transportation here. As for desert world, would love a world that has a Souk market and harvestable date palms and rose water.  And belly dancing and perfumes.

  • I am surprised that jungle adventures is the only pack to be released with so much exploration. I mean, ruins can be explored, but sims have to disable traps, solves puzzles, fight skeletons, and use adventure gear to combat various mechanisms. Sims can find treasure chests and do all kinds of things. There is no other world like this. Most features involve rabbitholes and interactive shells. It would be nice to see another adventure pack with lots of exploration. I would like to see an explorable underwater region (maybe via submarine), a mountain or cavern, or another cultural themed pack with ruins.

This! I was really hoping we’d see more of that kind of gameplay in other, new worlds after JA came out. The mountain expedition in Mt. Komorebi is good, but not quite on the same level as Selvadorada.

The mountain expedition in Mt Komorebi is good but it lacks "exploration" and it's also time limited which is not fun when we want to take time

  • Maybe they could add more worlds with Selvadorada style exploration. It would certainly give our archaeologist sims more adventure and expand on archaeology skill and museums. They could add Egypt withe the tombs, temples and pyramids, and this is quite requested. Then there's large ancient temples in Asis too, in India, Cambodgia. A world inspired by India would be really nice.

I think the Egypt tombs are very problematic due to some reasons: theft and blasphemy. Jungle Adventure is already not really liked for that reason, so if we have another pack like that, it wouldn't be very sensitive. Also, I feel like simmers want more countries outside Egypt when it comes to African representation, that's why it would be better if it's more country around the Sahel but not Egypt.

As dfor temples, I think they could use them in a better way: A religion/ Spiritual theme pack. I mean, spirituality is already in the game, so why not expand on that? A customization system could bring the freedom simmers need for that type of theme

Well, the Egyptian pyramids were never tombs, so we could have that, along with the Sphinx and other temples in Egypt.  The tombs in Egypt are a very small part of that part of history.  You can't have exploration type adventure in temples that are currently in use. Ancient ruins are better suited for that. I don't really care for actual religion, they tried to add some elements in Snowy Escape but were boycotted by the Korean simmers, and they added the rabbithole temple and the altar offering in For Rent. As far as religion goes, I am happy with elements of gameplay like the Menorah, altar offering, or the Christmas tree, traditions that are associated to one religion or another, but I don't want actual religion game mechanics.  But religion, of any kind, is not adventure, and people here are asking for adventure and exploration. Maybe they could do a pirate treasure quest on an island in the tropics.

  • Oh I love these! I love jungles most, but a proper eastern desert world would be such a gorgeous change! I think the Jungle Living would be quite logical. It could be so easily related to Jungle Adventure - a bit like how the Outdoor Retreat and Werewolves worlds share a very similar environment.
