I voted no. And I stick by it. This way is more exciting. And now that they implemented a guaranteed box odds, this is a great way to do things. This isn't the minority speaking - the minority are the people who got screwed on past wheels of chance and are bitter.- This thread sort of backfired on you, OP.

The point of an event is to get players involved, allow them to enjoy them selves and become more interested in the game. As usual, EA's corporate greed has run riot and instead of the system the majority of players enjoy, they have opted for the system that will ultimately end up making them the most amount of money with the least amount of work. The new chance system is irritating and infuriating players, making some consider quitting. This is indirectly making ea lose out on money, which I presume they have not considered.
This isn't even remotely true. Yeah, EA isn't the greatest company, but they also make billions of dollars, I think they understand marketing.- I wouldn't mind prizes being chance based only if they were completely useless or something but other than that I prefer earning them

Probably Lurkers who don't post OnePoundBeef wrote:

This is entirely possible. There are people who amuse themselves by repeatedly voting on the same poll by hitting the back button.neuroheart wrote:

It would appear so.drumnman wrote:
Look at the current top grossing mobile games and you'll see that games of chance dominate that list. It's not corporate greed as much as it is psychology of play.
Gambling isn't fun for everyone. Especially when a game was made one way, a way that people liked and then overhauled for completely no reason.
Why change something that people like? EA wasn't doing bad I can assure you that.
If they need to fallow the herd instead of leading maybe they shouldn't be in this business to begin with. They are not some tiny company that needs to fallow trends. This game isn't the type of game that even needs luck. It's suppose to be a town building simulator that's themed after a tv show. Tell me where does luck based item collection get involved here. It makes no sense from a logical point of view. Them trying to make this game into what it's not is ruining this game, not making it better.
I for one ain't going to kiss their butts for a content release that's going to probably * 85% of people off. :roll:neuroheart wrote:

It probably is!
I swear some people are so freakin immature here. I hope EA reads the comments instead of looking at that. It better represents what people think.OnePoundBeef wrote:

I was gonna ask if people would boycott the game, but knowing how addicted people are that would be very unlikely. Tho I guarantee if the players did that they'd bend to our whim. I can't believe that costumers are the ones begging. They caught everyone by a leash, and now they think they can control us. It shows how much they care about the players
The saddest part of it all is no one asked for the change. People loved the old system. The only mess-ups where when they made goals that were too high, and even then they fixed it. Why would anyone complain about that. But no they had to change it around for absolutely no reason.
And the worst part is, apparently they have time to add all this new garbage into the game, yet they don't have time to fix any real bugs with the game, and add stuff people have been asking for forever.
-we got no major bug fixes
-we got no new ground even though there was a thread about this going for 100 days or so
-we only got 2 level updates this year
-the mini events were a joke
-half of the tie ins weren't even fun
Seriously what in the world is going on with them? Last year seemed to be a lot better...RockStrongoh wrote:
Just to throw in my two cents on this issue as I rarely post or feel strongly enough about something to post, I can see both sides of the argument. but for me as a completionist, if I had not gotten say Claus Co. during the Christmas event (which I got near to the last day) and had no way of acquiring it afterward even though I grinded and worked to get it daily, I probably would have quit the game. I recently bought a bunch of donuts, so EA would have lost out on $50 and any future purchases I might have made. The wheel infuriated me :x to the point where the game wasn't fun anymore (at least for me...my other friends didn't mind as much so everyone will look at this differently) and I was contemplating quitting. I haven't started the Easter event yet (a few more hours to go) but if the boxes are like the wheel then it is obvious EA is going to continue with this chance stuff in which case if I miss stuff through no fault of my own I might just play till my donuts are gone and then quit since I will not be able to get certain items. The completionist in me would not allow me to continue. Well see how this all plays out in the next few weeks.
I completely understand that! I was in the same boat as you but I didn't end up completing the wheel during the Christmas event. At the end I came to terms with not completing it. What got to me is the fact that I put so much work for nothing. True I did win some stuff but it was barely worth the 3 weeks I spent after that not to win the last prize.
Honestly this is why I made the thread tho. I want EA to see how annoyed the players are, and I want paying players to see if their money is actually going to use that they are paying for or EA just taking their money and ignoring them. The only way to get change is if people persistently bug them about it and make it known that we don't like what they are doing. Eventually if they have a half a brain they'll understand and listen.
