It costs money to invest in and create a game like this, not to mention licensing costs. If you had a Playstation, Wii or XBox, you would be paying around $50 per game anyway. What makes this any different when you can play it anytime, anywhere. And support for the game means EA will continue investing in future updates and even more buildings and characters.
:D I agree with above.
I've been playing for almost a year (I think) and in the beginning I never really brought any donuts, I couldn't justify doing it, then something clicked and I started buying donuts. Limited items first then slowly gained all the regular premium items.
My brother pays $100 on an XBOX game and gets bored with it after he has passed it, yet on this game, it's always changing and I've never really had any true problems with glitches or anything. Not like some on here. The only real thing that messed me up was the Herp glitch but even that fixed after some time.
Besides I find the best time to buy iTunes cards are when they're offering 20% off or something along those lines.
I can play the game anywhere I want anytime I want so it has therefore, fulfilled it's purpose in keeping me entertained so I support EA (even with their glitches) and buy donuts. This event is awesome so far, so many new items! A few hours after I unlocked the event I went to get more iTunes money so I could buy their limited items (especially the items with characters attached).
