  • For anyone buying a phone today:

Dual-core, 1 GB RAM, with at least 480*800 resolution on a 4'' screen is a minimum.

It doesn't have to be premium model, or famous brand-name manufacturer. Zte, Huawei or some other Chinese brand will do the job just as fine if money is the issue.

I used to play on Prestigio tablet (single core, 512 RAM, bad LCD) and it was a torture. Not only TSTO, but the entire experience was bad. Then I bought HTC Desire X (dual core, 768 MB RAM) and I must say that the difference is very visible.

I do not know if tsto is compatible with those phones. But, unless it has move to sd card available (my phone dorsnt have one so I don't know if its an option), you would have serious memory issues with any of those phones. Example: the optimus has 1.6GB of user available memory. My tsto is currently 743MB. Wouldn't leave room for much of anything else.
743? to me it says 285

    Thanks Skipper!

Looks like we're down to the Sony.....

BTW still got a Nokia 3330 in the glove box for emergencies, battery lasts for about 3 weeks between charges.... legendry phone 8)

Just done some reasearch and I've found that you can play tapped out on the Sony Tipo, so I would go for that if you are looking for a new phone to run TSTO. :D

Link to the post that told me this - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/Is-the-simpsons-tapped-out-compatible-with-android-4-2/td-p/795710p

Thank you so much Skipper you're an absolute diamond! :D

Thanks for the info Saian, never heard of Zte phones before but it looks like they're worth investigating!

Yes the sony will be fine, play it on my tipo no problem. The android game is nowhere as big as on iOS, think it's only up to about 60mb on my phone with all the updates compared to about 500mb on my iPad.

Application is only taking up around 30meg but theres 480 odd meg of data on my tab2 and 45meg and 264meg data on my galaxy s3. So its pretty similar to ios.

    Thanks cornick!

Think I'll get him the Tipo. I've got an xperia which is why I've been leaning towards the sony from the start!

On my phone tapped out app is running at 44.46mb with 340mb of data....... largest app I've got!

Not a bad little phone to be fair, can take quite a lot of abuse, have dropped mine loads, got it wet etc and it still works fine. TSTO is a little slower than i pad and the screen is possibly a tad small but over all cant really complain.

Sounds perfect for the boy, sure he'll find some way to destroy it though lol

    Hi LPNintendo

My mate has an android LG but TSTO wont work on his phone, having a quick look on line it seems a bit hit and miss whether it runs or not!

I know all these phones are low end, but hoping it would run on one of them as don't wont to be paying a fortune for a phone that he'll lose/smash within a month

He could probably play TSTO on an I-Pod Touch. You could even find a used one if you don't want to spend too much money. That may work, if he'll be usually playing TSTO at home. Some schools won't allow devices at school, depending on how old your son is.
