At that level you're able to shoot about 375 elves a day (assume 9.6 sets cannon firings over 24 hours, 39 elves per set). That's assuming you fire it every 2.5 hours, which most people don't do (because they sleep and so forth).

With 6 elves/hour plus the elf cave spawns (12 in 24 hours max), you'd have a total of 156 elves to fire every 24 hours.

So you're only earning 156 elves/day, can fire up to 375 elves/day, but you say you can't get rid of your elves? I guess you're hardly firing the cannon. Or maybe at one point due to a fluke you had 600 elves bottled up and so only having 200 is a big improvement. Who knows.

Most people who are constantly firing the cannon (and not saving elves until they get enough cogs for level x) don't have 200+ elves bottled up.

If you're on track for the island then I'm assuming you're getting a ton of bells via 50+ Friends. Firing the cannon only a few times a day isn't going to get you the island, especially if you missed five days.
