Just to add a point, Football (UK) has its earliest mention in the 1200s and was first time the term football was documented was in 1409. This predates the very early version of a carried ball game in the U.S by about 300yrs (1700s), though the more standard idea of American Football didn't come until the early 1800s.
Either way I don't care for either sport, I'm a Rugby man myself lol
Lol! You beat me to it!! I'm a big football fan, as I'm from Britain, but to stop this degenerating into a crazy brawl, I was gonna suggest either a rugby level, or that we all hate on rugby, but let's not do that now!!
Personally, I say Football and American Football. I've got friends who gave just moved back home from America and loved the Foot and Ball, Hand and Egg picture, I'm glad it's came up again so I can show her! I think what we need here is a bit of humour and understanding. In Britain we just have Football, but America have their own sport called Football, so they use Soccer. Football, Soccer, American Football, Hand-Egg, it's all fine.
Those taking part in this argument seriously need to ask themselves if they'd have a big problem with Mum or Mom, Lift or Elevator. Let's both dump France and be friends again!! Lol!!
Oh dear, yes the French.... Let us all focus on them and sport won't matter at all lol.
Calais in particular.
