Do you have tons of money? because if you don't I think the money is worth more than the donuts. :)

My town pretty easily earns about $50K a day, but I think I roughly find/earn fewer than 10 doughnuts a month. For that reason, I have no problem dropping $50K on a chance to earn 1-2 more doughnuts.

Mystery boxes have been pretty good to me. 10 rotten ones are often followed by 10 or 30 doughnuts.

It is time to earn some money, though. These latest buildings are expensive and my town needs a lot of decorating.

Yesterday I waited until I had $100,000 in reserve before clicking on finishing sir putt-a-lots because it gave 30,000 exp. Then I got the 3 donuts on guess 2. $50,000 closer to the all night gym for me.

You can get a Homer Buddha in a Mystery Box, so you can theoretically get any items from that 'in the Mystery Box', too. So, Moleman, even Frink's Lab, is not impossible. You'd have to be very, very lucky, though.
