You don't need it to progress to anything so buy it when you have the money (or want to add it to your Springfield).

Yeah, just buy it.. like it was stated, Edna's tasks take almost 2 weeks to complete.. unless you use donuts.. so you'll have plenty of time to make up the money.. if you're doing a 300 coin run the right way, you'll make plenty of dough with time to spare and even enough to buy more land (i'm planning on 6 more plots at $213K total) so i can re-engineer parts of my Springfield.
