[EA confirmed] Major Bug with % Premium Items. DONT BUY THEM - THEY DONT WORK! - version2

Hmmm. You seem to be right. That was one of the threads I had bookmarked. When I now try to access it I get a message stating that "The topic you are trying to see does not exist." I would hope this is some kind of unfortunate error, because if it represents a deliberate act on the part of EA, it's extremely heavy-handed.
  • Hi KrustyBrand ,
same here. I had 2 mails that there are answers on my topic , and when i clicked the link it was gone.

Yesterday i praised EA for finaly fixing that... (what was on my mind)... then they delete everything ?

Is that your way to clean up ?
Just delete and think we will not notice that ?

Damn it... ok ... as you wish - then lets start aaaaaaaaaaal over again....

    Hello Folks,

i have a very annoying bug in my premium items, and really hope you can help me with that.
Some of the items have the "increase all xp and money jobs" increase.

I know that the boy and the old guy only increase their jobs, but all other items should increase the jobs of the other chars.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit: As hellokenney proved - the Bonus from the Premium Items is NOT USED. You just get
the Bonus from the star rating.

So that fazit ist that all premium Items that give you a percentage bonus are USELESS at the Moment!!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Edit 2:
EA Confirmed that the calculation for the Premium Items is Bugged and doesnt work.
No answer on how long it will take to fix.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    What i have is:

    1x Springfield Sign 4,5%
    1x Plasma Cannon 3,75%
    1x Tire Fire 2.00%

    1x Tree Swing 0.50%
    1x Burning Bush 0.50%
    3x Apple Tree 0.50%
    2x Dumpster? 0.25%
    2x Bench? 0.25%
    1x Homer's Hammock 0,25%
    5x Picket Fence 0.05%
    _____________________________________
    14,25%

    + 3,5 Star Rating 3,5%
    =================================================================
    17,75%

So all my items together should increase my jobs by at least 17%
and of course sometimes its hard to calculate but let us check the single quests

    Quests:
    Homer eat @ Krusty written 40, should be 46, is 42 (5%)

Buy stuff in the Kwik-E-Mart written 70, should be at least 81 , is 73 (4.3%)
Willey playing the bag pipe written 70, should be at least 81 , is 73 (4.3%)
    APU Feed 8 written 70, should be at least 81 , is 73 (5%)
    Tomacco written 70, should be at least 81 , is 73 (5%)

Skinner Mensa Meeting , written 135, should be at least 157 , is 140 (3.1%)

    Skinner Watch Hall , written 420 , should be at least 491 , is 435 (3,5%)

i will add more quests here, to prove my theory -

But , what do we have here ? now clue - i do not see a rule on that - i only see that i spend money on bugged items
    and that is crap.

Can anybody check their income and tell me if oyu see the same problem ?
or did anybody report that to ea ?

I want what i paid for, and i payed for 17% increase!

    Thanks a lot for reading
    Best regards
    Swede

That refund topic was also delited if I remember right, not surprise cuz this topics would hurt there earnings, but I mean if they know about them n it is affecting why wouldn't they fix it faster

we are not in china where you just can delete what is uncomfortable !!
And yes - in the original post a lot of user explained how you can get your money back

EA if you might lose earnings, FIX YOUR BUGS - AND DO NOT DELETE TOPICS !!

(sorry to everybody from china , or to everybody i might anger with that post, i did not have a better example.
i love every human beeing in the same way)
  • Folks, i please you - make copy of this - and be prepared to repost.

The big christmas update is in front of the door - and EA want to sell a lotta donoughts.
It looks like they do not want to have that topics on while the big events start ?
    might that sound possible ?

If this will vanish again, please keep it up as long as this bug is not fixed.
  • I just performed a quick check of my own game and find that this bug has not yet been fixed which makes deletion of the previous thread all the more perplexing.
  • O wow. I would have not expected them to do such a thing. COME ON!! WE ALL FREAKING KNOW THE PREMIUM ITEMS DON'T DO WHAT THEY ARE EXPECTED TO!!
  • That's pretty grimey of EA to delete a thread. I mean its not like any trouble was coming from it.
  • Just to query, has anybody actually received a refund for donuts? Apple are saying take it up with EA if you want a refund.

I have. I emailed Apple and after a few exchanges, I've received refunds. I really feel it's only fair as EA didn't hold up their end of the deal. Apple support has been very pleasant.

Yey a response :D thank u, I think ppl r more upset about not knowing I'm pretty sure if u had saed this in the other post before it got deleted ppl would atleast have waited til the 5th, thing is it just got delited w/o any response other that u saying il b fix but ur not personally confirm it , I think thats wat u said if I remember right, and u don't know who moderates this forums? That's able to delete topics

Ps: u think we can get a Media and a Offtopic section in the forums this would help with the spamm

We should be clear that we are talking about two very separate issues here. The first is the bug itself. While I certainly appreciate the feedback provided to members of this forum by cshirleyea about the prospective timetable for repairing the problem, I've been less impressed with the way EA has, in general, handled it -- specifically, their failure to be upfront about the bug with prospective buyers of premium items. The second issue is, of course, the deletion of the original thread. I'm no legal expert, but I would assume that since this is EA's forum they are free to do pretty much whatever they want; but just because they *can* does not mean that they *should*. I don't think it shows EA in a very good light if they delete a thread for no other reason than that it openly addresses uncomfortable truths about their product.
