What task is it that is not completing? is it the actual building of the house per se or it some Nelson task. If it's a Nelson task that involves a building other than the Muntz house (the school, for example), you might try putting that building into storage. If the task in question is the building of the Muntz house, you might as a last ditch effort try selling the house and buying another one. That has been reported to work in the case of other buildings (but sometime not). Good luck.
I'm stuck directly after building Muntz house. I have the task book open and Nelson's face is there and it says 'build the Muntz house 1/1' and is stuck on that.

Well, it certainly wouldn't hurt to try to store it once more and for a period of time longer than 24 hours. But if that strategy is going to work, usually it works the first time around. I do, however, know at least one user who had to store a particular building twice before the associated task completed.
You might also try deleting and reinstalling the app, although the chances of that fixing the problem are, according to reports, kind of slim. If all else fails, I'd open a ticket with EA. Again, good luck.
