Still can't get Bachelor Arms to trigger

Haven't got there myself yet, but I'd have expected to have to do all the previous level quests before this one pops up.

Saving for the noise land arcade myself, spinster appts just built.
  • to actually build the Bachelor Arms, Marge triggers it, Bart and Millhouse do the Candy Day one, then Marge kicks in, but if I remember right, u need Noiseland to continue with the Running with the Bullies quest

Do I need Videoland Arcade in order to get Bachelor Arms?

Yes, I think I responded to your other topic. You HAVE to have the MAIN building from the prior level BUILT in order to get the trigger for the next building. So if you refuse to get the arcade, then you will refused to get the Bachelor Arm apartments.

That's how level progression works. You couldn't get Spinster City Apartments (level 35) without having Springfield High School (level 34). When you are a lower level or whatever, the trigger is based on particular quest. So you can trigger Burns Manor (level 25 I think) as long as you are higher than level 25 but also have level 24 quest to build that building as well.

I think it's tied to the cost decrease. If the level is at the lowest price (which is level 31 now) then it can be triggered as long as you are level 31 or higher and buildings can go out of order since it's based on a quest. So in order to get the trigger for level 32, you need to have level 31's main building, for level 33 main you need level 32's main. Something like this.

Finally, I think Sir-Putts-A-Lot is an exception, since it was available during Valentine's Day last year.
  • Okay, thank you all. You were correct about the Arcade being required (but not the DMV) ... I became confused about the progression rules when -- even though I couldn't get Springfield General Hospital built -- I was able to somehow get around that one and the rest of the buildings came along nicely. Before i realized that i didnt need it, I was afraid that hospital was a major requirement to moving on.

I hadn't looked at the way the levels have major builds related to a level ... since I moved along so fast level-wise, and am finally playing catch-up with the quests in my play book. Except General Hospital, which I'm leaving there just for spite. (I'll get to it someday, I'm just not interested right now.

    Thank you all again :)
