Also, it seems when you haunt a house that's already haunted, even though it says "Haunted by the ghosts", it was actually haunted by a friend of your friend- you just can't see the name. I think the very first time you have haunted houses, when you start with the Halloween missions, is the only time the "Haunted by the ghosts" message isn't the results of a friend's action. So double haunting a house in your friend's town is bad, even if it says "Haunted by the ghosts", because that was goo your friend could have collected from their friend's haunting that you now have stolen.
I haven't had that happen to me on my I-phone or I-pad- even if I don't collect the goo, the total is still correct when I go back to my Springfield.
In regards to taking of neighbours goo, I'm not sure if that's happening when I play. I'm sure that people are tapping on my haunted buildings, but I don't see my amount of goo decreasing. I also don't think it's double haunting, when you tap on a neighbours haunted building, isn't it like unhaunting the building?
I've also received a few free donuts by tapping on ghosts and buildings.
