If you vandalize their building, which is one of the nicest things you could do for a person, you get money and xp,
1) they get a small negative to their righteousness (I think).
2) When they clean up the vandalism, it counts as a big bonus to their righteousness, and some money and xp.
2a) I don't know what happens when you clean up somebody else's graffiti. I think it will only remove the negative righteoussness from their bonus.
If you tap on a crop, one of two things happen, along with you getting money and xp,
1) if the crop has rotted in the field, which takes seconds for perfection to hours for other crops, it resets that timer, and the crop is good again.
Or
2) if the crop is fine, you only reset the timer, which isn't much use.
If you tap on any other building, you get money and xp,
1) they get the money from the building when they tap the shaking hands
2) more importantly, the timer for the next payout starts, so they keep earning even though they haven't tapped the building to collect taxes, checks, etc.
I prefer people to tap my rotten crops, followed by vandalism, followed by tapping buildings, but vandalism is very important. Some people like to tap fast cycling houses and buildings as a way to just say "Hi, nice town." Some people don't like having their buildings out of sync, so this doesn't disturb them. I tend to tap buildings that cycle every 4 to 8 hours, which I think will maximize their profits based on my own playing habits. My tapping probably annoys some people, but it is what I decided on months ago. If I am pressed for time, I tap the first things I see, except for ripe crops and mops.
