Predetermined

Why does it feel like the online has a predetermined outcome? It's like the game decides who it's going to favor before the match starts. Sometimes you hit a crazy counter and it rocks your opponent,  other times you can hit them with 37 of them and it doesn't even register as a counter. Meanwhile your opponent rocks you with a jab. Lol why is this?
