submission after bell

was playing a game of online career and my opponent had me in a submission, the bell had gone but the submission had carried on and lasted 4-5 seconds AFTER the bell and the ref stopped the fight?!?!? why has my opponent won the game when the bell had gone ages ago?! takes the mick when you lose to submission after the bell had long gone when your in division 16!!!
