You lag like crazy because this game is ran on peer to peer (p2p). So basically there's a 50/50 chance you will be host, which p2p gives the host an advantage due to the game being run off of their connection. If you're lagging like crazy then you are not host and the player they gave host to probably has next to no lag which gives them the advantage. It was a huge problem back in Gears of war 1 and 2 which they eventually gave 3 the dedicated servers.
