Takedowns in early career mode

Hello, I’m trying to platinum UFC 5 and for the goat status I need 17 submissions, but in early career I can’t shoot a single takedown like the buttons are not responding but can work alright when sparring - anyone know how to get this sorted?

    @DeckH11 What’s your style? I chose wrestler and have no problems with takedowns especially Greco slams and submissions. Try that out.
