UFC 6: Fundamentally broken

UFC 6 is fundamentally broken – striking distance, counters, hit registration and exploit spam

I've played UFC games for around 10 years, and I genuinely don't understand how the gameplay keeps getting worse instead of improving.

The biggest issue right now is striking distance and recovery speed. Jabs, crosses, hooks and especially overhands constantly fail to reach opponents who are literally standing still in front of you. The overhand sometimes feels like it has the reach of a small child. At the same time, certain combinations and spam patterns allow players to pressure endlessly with almost no reliable opportunity to counter.

L1 + moving backwards needs to be faster and more responsive. UFC 3 handled this much better. You could move back, create distance and fire a cross forward as a counter. Right now, even when I correctly read my opponent and try to counter, my fighter often reacts too slowly or simply cannot reach them.

The game currently rewards cheesy spam more than timing and fight IQ.

There are also serious issues with hit registration. Standing knees frequently don't connect properly. Head kicks can feel impossible to escape while moving backwards, and certain strikes seem to track or connect from ridiculous positions.

The ground game also has obvious exploit/spam problems. I've already encountered players abusing patterns that feel completely broken and leave almost no meaningful counterplay.

Then there is the Flow State system. I fought a McGregor player who appeared to remain in Flow State for around three minutes while endlessly spamming attacks. If this is intended, the system is horribly balanced. If it isn't intended, then it needs to be investigated as a bug.

I've even encountered what I can only describe as a “Jesus glitch”, where the character becomes stuck standing with the arms positioned like they're nailed to a cross.

UFC 3 was the last UFC game where I felt that movement, distance and counter striking actually worked together properly. The current game needs serious changes to:

Fix jab, cross, hook and overhand range.

Make L1 + backwards movement faster and more responsive.

Improve forward counter striking after creating distance.

Fix hit registration, especially standing knees.

Investigate ground-game spam/exploits.

Fix or rebalance Flow State duration and activation.

Fix the character T-pose/“Jesus” glitch.

Reduce the effectiveness of endless combo spam and reward correctly timed counters.

I want this game to be good. I've spent around 10 years playing this series, but right now the gameplay is unbelievably frustrating because I'm not losing to better reads or better fighting strategy. I'm constantly fighting broken mechanics, inconsistent range, hit-registration issues and exploit spam.

EA, please actually investigate these issues. The core gameplay and counter-striking system need serious attention.
