I found a small solution that might be useful to you. If you press the Home button during opponent matchmaking (right when the cooler starts spinning like crazy) and go to the PlayStation home screen—effectively minimizing the game and running it in the background—you might be able to play more safely without overheating your console. Of course, this doesn't fix the issue of uncapped framerates in specific menus, but it's better than nothing
