What are 'Gems' in UFC 4? - Secret Badge?

Okay. So I'm massively enjoying UFC 4 at the moment, and a lot of the issues I had during the beta and early access promotion have been fixed! But, after going through the list of badges for UFC 4, I found three separate badges relating to 'gems'. One for collecting ten of them, another for collecting a hundred gems and the third for acquiring ten thousand gems. 

This is extremely confusing, as there isn't any current in-game item/currency known as 'gems' (to my knowledge), there aren't any ways to acquire them through gameplay (to my knowledge) and the microtransactions listed on the Microsoft store are the Joshua and Fury pack, and the current premium currency - UFC Points.

My only thoughts/ideas for what this could be is as a new reward for a possibly returning live events mode, but even that is a bit hopeful.
