Anyone Had success with PC+PSVR2?

I'm on a 3070/i7 11th gen/32Gb here and the menus are a slideshow, sub 1fps.

I found a post by u/LunchFlat6515 on reddit with suggested settings, but no good.

The FAQ says not supported but I assume that's Native PS5 PSVR2 and/ or motion controls. This is just using a Fanatec wheel and SteamVR.

@Devs - happy to help if you need anything!

  • You shouldn't put up with the stutter from running sub-90fps at 90hz. That's nasty

You should switch your headset to 120hz and then set a 60hz frame cap via "throttling behavior" in per-app settings for SteamVR. That will be much smoother, and you will be able to run a bit higher resolution (but not so high you drop below 60fps)

Use Hidden Area Mask to reduce vertical FOV (it'll be like wearing a helmet) then you can pump resolution or resolution scale a bit higher

Thanks so much for the advice. It's running much better now. Reall, it's good enough to fall under the beta label for me now. Menus are occaisionally slow but not the sub 1fps. I think that was having the menu frame rate limiter set to off.

Here's my settings, if you've any advice on these I'll take it! And/or experiment and get back if I see an improvement. I've not experimented with upscalers as the quality generally seems poor in VR.

OK, not exactly sure what the difference was, but its the first time I've tried it post the DLC update and its much better - I did hear there were no updates to VR for that though.

I suspect I was just running too high settings.

    • Made sure I was 68% scaled on SteamVR to get native PSVR2 res
    • Started at ultra low preset and moved up from there, and it was fluid.

I'm currently set at medium preset with some other stuff also turned down/off. Like crowds, mirrors reflections.

3070 is near max VRAM capacity and I'm getting mostyly reasonable frametimes, though not at 90fps. The CPU frametime seems to suffer more. (i7-11700).

Happy enough for now until the next gpu upgrade.

Post a screenshot of your SteamVR frame timing graph (the one that shows on the desktop) after you race for a minute or so.
