Re: What would it take for EA to consider adding PSVR2 support?
PS5 is nowhere near powerful enough to run this game in VR and is well below the minimum PC specs advertised by EA to run this game.
It takes a beefy modern PC to run this game and a PS5 is at best a very very average PC from a handful of years ago.
As soon as you turn upscaler on, the game becomes a smudgy blurry mess. To be able to keep upscaler off my guess is a 3070 gpu is the minimum. I use a 3080ti with an overclocked I9 and 48gb of ram, I sim race at 72hz and I have to sacrifice things like crowds, ground cover, shadows, trees on medium so that I can keep more important things on high and keep the performance nice and smooth.
On a PS5 you would have one hell of a blurry smudgy mess visually, all graphics would probably be on ultra low and the frame rate would be unplayable in vr! For all these reasons, Sony would deny EA making it available on the Sony store.
If you want to sim race in VR, it doesn’t matter what sim racing game you choose, you need a PC!
On a PS5 you will only ever get GT in VR and that’s it.
To summarise your question - You need a beefy PC to run this game and that’s what it takes!
The vast majority of us started sim racing on console and then moved over to PC because console sim racing has to be massively dumbed down for it to run on consoles, it’s been that way for years!
