Do you have 32GB Ram?
Try the built in adaptive resolution instead of the native or DLSS. For me DLSS is blurry just in the left eye, I bet that will be addressed later.
What part of the image is flickering? Ground cover or other elements?
I tried the engine.ini thing to reduce track brightness.
One thing i've noticed is the cockpit is always very nicely rendered but all the exterior is ugly.
Yes enough RAM no problem with RAM.
In VR I will not use any upscaler or DLSS because it makes the image blurry - best would be a good AA algorithm without smearing over the image. In VR it's essential to have in the middle of the view as much details as possible.
I've now work-a-rounds for my problems.
The flickering in combination with the tree LOD and wet surfaces - some say shimmering - is really the biggest problem. My work-a-round is, that I disabled the in-game AA and activated DLAA using commands in engine.ini - No the AA is ok it's nevertheless a little blurry (more than I like). Additional I set trees to Low.
Brightness is also corrected with some engine.ini commands.
Scaling was a slightly misaligned IPD, after readjusting it's now ok.
So I can now play in VR with most settings on low and have my 4080 S hoovering around 80% - 90% in the stage. On the start line with extra lights at night and rain there are some framedrops to 86-88 but mostly stable at 90 fps.
-> There is a lot of optimization in the game missing and it does not look very good. In comparison to ACC which is also UE WRC is really bad. ACC looks way better and the Nordschleife in ACC could also be a rally rack with the length, vegetation and asphalt. Even the rain looks so much better in ACC.
Here the enigine.ini commands that I use (as I have written in some other threads).
