Adaptive Triggers become unavailable when using Custom Button Layout on PS5
Hello EA/Respawn Support Team,
I would like to report what appears to be a bug in Apex Legends on PlayStation 5.
When I use any of the default controller layouts, I can enable the DualSense Adaptive Triggers without any issues. However, as soon as I switch the controller layout to Custom in order to remap my buttons, the Adaptive Triggers option becomes disabled (greyed out) and can no longer be enabled.
This happens even if I keep the L2 and R2 buttons assigned to their default actions. The only change is that I customize other buttons on the controller.
Platform: PlayStation 5
Controller: DualSense
Game: Apex Legends (PS5 version)
Steps to reproduce:
- Launch Apex Legends on PS5.
- Go to Settings → Controller.
- Select a default button layout and verify that Adaptive Triggers can be enabled.
- Change the button layout to Custom.
- The Adaptive Triggers option immediately becomes unavailable.
Expected behavior:
Players should be able to use Adaptive Triggers regardless of whether they use a default or custom button layout, especially when L2 and R2 remain assigned to their original functions.
Actual behavior:
The Adaptive Triggers option is disabled as soon as the controller layout is set to Custom.
I hope this issue can be investigated, as many PlayStation 5 players prefer customized controls while also wanting to enjoy the DualSense features.
Thank you for your time and for your continued support of Apex Legends.
