Apex Legends in Cloud Gaming Platforms

Greetings,

I am writing this bug report after realizing that no one is aware of this or does not want to talk about this. This is not a direct bug report regarding the in game performance or stability issues but rather the availability of the game itself. It is no doubt that the times and the ways we game, the prices we pay for games and the way we own or have access to those games are changing. Naturally, Cloud Gaming presents itself in this predicament as an alternative solution to ever so evolving, ever so competitive market where access to hardware becomes less likely than yesteryear. One such platform is Boosteroid. One of many competitors to widely known brands like Xbox Cloud Gaming or Nvidia GeForce Now.

I have recently transitioned to Boosteroid as my primary cloud gaming platform of choice. This transition brought it's own problems with it. One such problem would be Apex Legends being a supported title for the service but being unable to the service of players. I will present some screenshots regarding how long this issue persisting for, as well as official statement from platform and their  expectations from EA games themselves because it seems like they can't proceed without the involvement of EA Games.

Apparently, if you play on this platform (that is Boosteroid) EA is false-positively banning your account. Which is why the game is unavailable to the masses even though the game actually is on Boosteroid, well, if it was, you would be banned as it is. Boosteroid apparently needs EA to whitelist their servers for the game to be up and running again. I am to blame here as well, perhaps, I should've done more research rather than seeing the catalogue and going "oh cool, apex is there, we are good to go". Will EA ever do something about this? I don't really think so? But I guess no harm in trying right?

I don’t really understand why EA is so hostile toward cloud gaming services don’t they want players’ money? You still have to buy the game either way, but obviously I won’t buy it if my laptop can’t run it. However, thanks to services like GeForce Now or Boosteroid, I would buy EA games, since I’d actually be able to play them. There’s even EA Play, which could easily support this.

These days, a decent graphics card or processor has become almost unaffordable, whereas I can easily pay the €8 monthly fee for Boosteroid. I really wish EA would finally be more open minded. Many people choose cloud gaming for convenience too no loud fans, you can play on a TV with a controller, or on a laptop in bed without it reaching 100 degrees..

So well said brother, my thoughts exactly. They build their game on source engine, then they wonder why there are so many cheaters in their higher end lobbies. Best solution they can come up with is killing off entire Linux support (Spoiler alert: people still cheat). Now, you rely on cloud gaming services as an alternative, which use Windows 11 as their primary OS, yet they are still not satisfied. If the game is already in the service, which my assumption is, you yourself should have given the green light to begin with, why are you burning the bridges now?
