Hi team,
2 days ago, Apex started freezing on my Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX8 rendering the device entirely dead and only possible way is to press and shutdown. At first I suspected a possible hardware issue, so I ran several stress tests to rule out hardware instability.
Tests performed:
OCCT CPU — 20 minO
CCT GPU — 20 min
OCCT Memory — 20 min
OCCT Power — 20 min
FurMark 1080p — 12 min
FurMark 1440p — 7 min
OCCT CPU — additional 30 min test, also stable
All tests completed without crashes or obvious instability. I've also taken the liberty of doing a Windows clean install because why not however the moment i installed Apex, boot it up the issue persists. I don't even need to load a game, it freezes after 5-10mins in the menu.
I've also tested Arc Raiders, which did not crash, while Apex continues to crash. Fortnite has also experienced crashes and both share the same anti-cheat (EAC)
At this point, I'm leaning towards the issue being related to Apex, Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), or an interaction between EAC and my system/driver configuration, rather than a general hardware stability issue.
Can you provide further help on this.

Hi, this is happening to me as well and I also have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, mine is 16ARX8.
This started to happen after the 19th Aug update. - theNyuu5 days agoSeasoned Novice
Yes, about the same. I haven't found a fix yet nothing else I can think of trying at the moment either.

Same issue for me with
Legion Pro 7 16ARX8H same issue. Thinking it might be something to do with recent BIOS update? No problem with any other games...

I’m experiencing the same issue. After playing Ranked or Wildcard matches for a while, my PC freezes, and I can't do anything unless I hold down the power button. My PC is a Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16ARX8.

So it's a bit embarrassing but I found out that when I set my PC back up after I moved, I plugged my monitors into my Motherboard and not my GPU, which caused Apex to try to run on the internal graphics and crash, feel like a dummy, but fixed!

Same thing for me, until 2 days ago Apex and the laptop itself were working fine and then suddenly after about 5-10 minutes of playing (even if I just stay in lobby) the game freezes completely, I can't even switch desctops via win + tab. Tried some light troubleshooting but it didn't help and seeing this thread I suppose the issue is way more fundamental.

Hi, same issue. Think its got something to do with thew update since it was okay before 19Aug. I also think this issue is only affecting lenovo legion laptops since mine is also a Lenovo Legion 5 pro 16ARX8. Game completely freezes after 10 mins and I have to force shutdown my laptop. I read in one of the posts on apex pc freeze that the issue might be stemming from the easy anti cheat that is perhaps flagging a mediatek driver as a cheat or some other lenovo application like the vantage software or lenovo legion toolkit as a cheat. But I can't confirm this yet, and my theory is only supported by the fact that this issue is affecting Lenovo legion laptops.

I agree with you.
