Same with me, since they started with DX12 i've been trying it and it has always been crashing to desktop just before playing for an 1hour for me.
I would switch back to DX11 and get no issue.
Then they would release updates and patches and I would try DX12 again, but again crashes at the 1 hour mark of playtime.
I am back on DX11 and here I will stay until they remove it as an option, after that I can only hope the issue gets fixed.
My specs:
- Ryzen 7 5700X
- 32GB DDR4-3200
- RTX 3070
- Win 11 24H2
- Game Installed through Steam on a 1TB NvMe
Meka868Ok so I'm not the only one. I've done some research and found some people with the same issue. Not a lot but more than enough. I just can't think of anything on my side which causes the issue. I built the PC at the start of the year and was fine until the start of last season where they forced DirectX12 as the new standard for Apex. Before that it would run perfectly, DirectX11 tho. It's a new PC with almost the newest parts so I can't imagine anything being the problem with DX12 because it runs perfectly on DX11. I really don't understand. Tried a lot of "fixes" from YouTube today but still crashed after 45 minutes.
But honestly it's not my responsibility to find a fix for this. It's their game that's not running stable on brand new PCs. Also I don't have any Antivirus or anything else running so my operating system is vry very clean. I'm honestly puzzled...

Yea, at first I thought it was my 8Gbs of VRAM running out, but I monitored it a couple of times and it never even reaches close to filling the buffer.
So, ive decided to just play on DX11. With DX12 the only thing that avoids crashes mid game is for me to just restart Apex before the 1 hour mark, luckily Apex starts up pretty quick so its just a minor annoyance. But still, they really need to fix this
