Was this in Standard Trio's / Duo's? If so, that's intended behaviour.
Currently the Kill & Damage badges have been disabled in Standard Trio's & Duo's because of the Relic Weapons that are currently active. You can find more about this in this thread: Damage and kill badges not being granted | EA Forums - 11862723
You can still get these badges from ranked.
