Queue time is so long, and always showing <amount> players in queue

Hi, I recently tried to come back to Apex, but it always shows 1, 5, 6, and sometimes >20 players in the queue and takes around 5-10 mins to start a match. Is there something wrong with my account, or is it normal for the current online? Sounds weird with Apex having 100k+ online in Steam and queuing for 5-10 minutes.
