Bad audio mixing - no footsteps sound

I think there's a huge problem with the game's audio mix.

It's all very cluttered. I often can't hear what's around me.

A tank to my left, no sound, an enemy running to my right, no sound, an ally running behind me, no sound. On the other hand, the parachute sounds are too loud and poorly localized. You can often hear distant noises very well, but very close ones are barely audible.

The worst part, however, is the footsteps, which are mostly inaudible.

  • I hear them after they killed me. When they are near..no foootsteps...after death..very loud.

Tanks sometimes are suddenly behind me also..with out sound

  • I'm facing exaclty the same, plus spatial sound doesn't work at all...

I have tried different audio mixes from in-game settings, switching Dolby Atmos/ Windows Sonic and issue persists.

Games like Hunt Showdown 1896, CS2 and many others you can locate someone just by hearing them... like how far it is, if it's on your side, front or behind you... even it's above or below you.

So it's not my PC or Headset... it's just BF audio which is not working at all...

    1. Foot steps, rarely hear anyone except my own, which spoils the CQB audio cue. Even on Infantry only maps it's very poor.
    2. Getting killed: Constantly looking around for where that shot came from. Even when the bad guy is in the same room I couldn't tell where he was in relation to me. Even less likely to hear the direction as distance increases. Even on Infantry only maps it's very poor sound.
    3. I can hear the air assets screaming over-head, tanks going boom (if I'm standing close to it), but other soldiers firing\ moving is lost somewhere. Seems like you prioritised the big sounds over the subtle sounds.

Looking back at previous BF I could hear direction fire, close footsteps, even on a roof full of players in combat.

    Razer BlackShark V2 (synapse v3).

    100% agree with you

  • What scares me is that there is no official information regarding this bug (we hear a lot about bloom etc. but not about the audio mix)

Interesting that there is an "audio fix" next week (28th). Let's hope it sorts the problem as my THX is worthless.
