BR Mission Plant Bomb - Can't Plant - Rubble

So I called in either an airstrike or artillery strike on one of the two tallest buildings in downtown, either before or while the mission to plant a bomb was on - to target an enemy at the top. 

Due to the destruction / rubble, the M-COM or whatever the thing I was supposed to plant the bomb on, got buried and resulted in not allowing me to plant. 

I tried different positions - prone, crouch, jump, different angles - but unsuccessful.
