Can't quit match to go back to main menu

I've been having an issue since the start of the game & haven't seen it addressed here where i cannot quit a match to go back to the main menu. The only known workaround I've found is to hit windows key, select steam in taskbar & force quit the game. I've noticed it happens after i go from completing a match to joining a fresh one and forces me to stay in the new matches unless i force quit.
