When I go to type in chat it glitches and cycles through all the chat modes (hidden, when active, and show) then won't let me type. It kinda acts like I'm alt tabbed and I have to click back on the game to close the chat window and play the game its so weird and super duper random.
I noticed this yesterday as well. I tried to quickly hit my <Enter> key on PC at the end of a round to type "GG" and nothing was showing in the chat window. I also couldn't use Tab to cycle between chat channels or change the Chat visibility.
I couldn't get it fixed unless I quit out of the game and relaunched it.
Now I can't get chat to work by pressing Enter even after restarting the game.
I am having the exact same issue, started on December 10th.
Same, started with the winter offensive update, didn't get fixed in the hot patch. Chat is totally broken.
I think it has to do with game hooks like discord overlay and music afterburner, after disabling overlay for msi and discord it seemed to work. But it could also just be a fluke
Doubtful. I didn't even have Discord running when it just happened to me. I have no other overlays enabled.
i can't use chat at all since last update, its broken for me
i cant use chat either, all my friends can but me not sure why
I opened up an official EA support ticket for this issue (just to get as much coverage as possible) and it sounds like this will get forwarded up the chain to get developer eyes on it.
That's my hope and understanding.

this its crippling to be unable to talk to the team and make any sort of call out etc. Its made this winter challenge impossible to get team work going etc :(
