Controller aim assist doesn't work past 20m

Today's patch broke aim assist on controller on Steam. In the firing range, using a 3x scope, I get a small amount of stickiness at 10m, a tiny barely noticeable amount at 20m, and nothing past that. Before, I got aim assist even on the farthest target.

The patch notes say they tried to improve aim assist, and maybe lessen it at range. But this patch removed it entirely? Seems like a bug.
