Drone bug with a sledgehammer

The drone can carry friendlies to buildings inaccessible to those without a heli or jet to get to. They are having a friendly jump on it and hit the drone with a sledge hammer causing it to launch in the air repeatedly to get to buildings with no access.

Thanks for sharing this! I’ll forward the details to the team so they can look into it.

So I've noticed that some people have been finding their ways to weird spots or well behind enemy lines in quite a few matches of breakthrough today. early catches were people somehow ending up high in the sky and parachuting down towards the opposing team's hq (short of crossing that line), or finding their ways onto various rooftops of New Sobek City. I witnessed a guy riding a drone up high and parachuting down onto what I believe to be a normally inaccessible rooftop (clip for reference). I spent nearly that entire match attempting to snipe the people that were making their ways onto those rooftops.

  • I was unable to get video of this, but did see it. There were at least 3 players standing on top of the Recon Drone, at least one with the Sledgehammer melee weapon (don't know if this matters). The drone then proceeded to fly up into the air with the players on top and the sledgehammer player swinging the hammer (again don't know if this matters). When I witnessed it it was Escalation on Iberian Offensive. Once they were in the air they proceeded to spread out on the rooftops.

I found a bug with the Recon Drone. When prone and deploying Recon Drone it bugs out and has lifted me in the air a few feet while flying. It  has also caused me to crouch and/or stand up when trying to initiate flight.

  • Players can exploit an interaction between the Recon's drone and the hammer melee weapon to achieve unintended flight. When a Recon deploys an drone on the ground and another player stands on top of it, crouches, and repeatedly hits the drone with the hammer, the drone and the player are lifted upward into the air. This allows players to gain significant vertical mobility by standing on the drone while it ascends.

    Steps to reproduce

Have a player with the Recon class deploy an drone on the ground.
A second player (any class) stands on top of the drone.
The second player crouches and continuously hits the drone with a hammer.
Observe that the drone — along with the player standing on it — begins to rise into the air.

    Expected Result:
The drone should remain stationary or be destroyed when hit by the hammer; players should not be able to use it to lift themselves.

    Actual Result:
The drone is propelled upward, carrying the standing player with it, enabling vertical movement and access to unintended areas.

    Severity:
High — allows players to reach out-of-bounds areas or gain unfair positional advantages.

    Reproducibility:
    100% (consistent across multiple attempts).
