Frequent Stuttering on 4090/9800X3D

Frequent stuttering and frametime spikes on a high-end system like yours are certainly puzzling.

You can start by working through our How to troubleshoot graphics issues on PC guide and testing any steps you haven’t tried yet.

You can also try the following:

• Repair or reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and DirectX.
• Retest with only Battlefield’s in-game performance graph enabled.
• Make sure your motherboard BIOS and AMD chipset drivers are up to date.

For a more advanced troubleshooting step, you could also try the fix shared by another player who uses the same CPU series as you.

I've tried doing all of the above things you've listed, including closing all background tasks such as Process Lasso & Wallpaper Engine, to no avail. See below for same behavior.

Edit: I've also ensured my thermals are within spec. There is no thermal, voltage, or power limit throttling. I am not overclocking my GPU.

At this point, one additional advanced step you could consider testing is disabling Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) in the BIOS. This is different from thermal or power-limit throttling, which you’ve already ruled out.

You could also try pairing this with an FPS cap using the in-game limiter or RTSS, set slightly below your monitor’s maximum refresh rate, and see whether that makes the frametime behaviour more consistent.

If you’d rather not change BIOS settings, sharing your DxDiag report would be very helpful. The more system information I have, the more useful the case will be when I pass it along to the team.

I've capped framerate to my monitor's refresh rate & disabled PBO & my RAM's DOCP profile to no avail. Please see below DxDiag.

In the meantime, to help you get back to a smoother gameplay experience as soon as possible, you could try some more steps if you’re comfortable doing so:

1. Make sure the game is running exclusively on your dedicated GPU rather than the integrated GPU.
2. Temporarily remove the Feizhi virtual keyboard/mouse driver.
3. Unplug your USB DAC and test the game again.
4. Check whether there is a newer motherboard BIOS available.
5. Disable the integrated GPU in the BIOS.
