Last alive and still lost dice help

We where the last two alive but the game never ended so zone closed killing both me and my friend (there where no other enemies zone closed completely killing us) then instead of a victory screen it said we got 3rd some how even in the screenshots from the match you can see on the mini map that zone has fully closed idk if it’s a bug or cheating but I don’t understand stand how we can be the only ones alive we die to zone fulling closing and get third 

btw the pictures are from a clip I was able to record on my PS5 then send to my phone I wanted to post the while 3m long clip but it won’t let me and even though I’m on PS5 I had cross play on and on east coast servers
