Low perfomance on decent PC

Hi, I've been waiting for some changes for a long time, but things are only getting worse.

My setup: 4070 Super, Ryzen 7 5700x on AM4 socket, 16GB DDR4, the game is installed on an M2 SSD, Windows 10.

My computer more than meets the system requirements. I've monitored the graphics, and there are almost no significant drops. But for some reason, the game is unstable. Even at 90 FPS, the game is dreadful, there's no smoothness, and it starts to drop during intense action sequences, which I can understand. First of all, the graphics settings don't affect the frame rate at all: on low settings, I get 80-90 FPS, and on ultra settings, I get 80-90 FPS.

Next, I decided to use DLSS, which also doesn't affect the frame rate at any setting. The only solution I found was the Nvidia Gen 4 frame rate. Yes, I get 140+ fps, very smooth, but I get a barely noticeable but unpleasant input lag, especially in the heat of the battle. It's bearable, but it's like a stopgap; there's no other way for me to play.

I've interviewed many players with different setups and their performance. And I've come to the conclusion that the game runs more stably for people with weaker hardware. The 4070 Super/Ti/Super Ti delivers the lowest performance, compared to the rather weak 5060. I've also noticed that, regardless of processor performance, the AM5 socket is more stable than the AM4. I've heard many complaints from people and my colleagues about poor performance and game instability. However, when I spoke to people with weaker setups, I didn't encounter any such problems.

After the Winter Offensive update, the game became even more unstable. Input lag increased, and mouse tweaks appeared that had no effect on frame rate competition, game settings, etc. I also want to highlight the redsec mode. The game runs even worse in it; the image literally breaks, again with a stable 90 fps. It feels like I'm running a completely different game on a different engine.

After my inquiries, I concluded that the game isn't designed for AM4 processors, and DLSS doesn't work correctly on Series 40 video cards. Dear Battlefield Studios, I sincerely love the game and want it to be better. Please consider me and others with similar issues, as I own many of them. #fixbf6

  • You are not alone.

They introduced something in Winter Offensive that screwed the game up.

Im on a similar system with a 5800x, 7090xt and before Winter offensive I was getting very smooth game play with FPS almost never dipping below 120fps.

After Winter Offensive, if I move my mouse and use the keyboard at the same time, it looks like its rendered on a 60hz monitor.  Its basically unplayable.  My fps rarely drop below 120.

They broke something.  Some people have concluded the anti-cheat is causing this when you specifically use the mouse and W,A,S,D,1,2,3,4 keys at the same time.

The game played better on my 2080ti during the beta than it does now on my 9070xt after the winter update.

It seems they are done addressing it and no further communication from them after the patch on Monday that did not fix it at all.

It seems the choice is to play it broken or move on.
