Melee Keybind Functions Inconsistently

One of the first things I did when Battlefield 6 launched was to change the keybind for "Melee / Melee Takedown / Switch to Melee (HOLD)". I removed the default keyboard mapping ('F') and added a mouse mapping (Mouse 4). Note that Mouse 4 is not bound to any other function in Battlefield 6, including vehicle keybinds and UI keybinds. This worked until the update a few weeks ago that reset everyone's keybinds. I again changed the keybind exactly as I had done before, so that this function was only mapped to Mouse 4. It has worked since then until Friday, November 12.

On Friday, I noticed that holding Mouse 4 still allowed me to switch to melee, but it would neither swing the sledgehammer nor initiate a takedown (when the takedown prompt was on the screen). Even left-clicking ("Fire" keybind) would not cause the sledgehammer to be swung, as it normally would. I was completely unable to perform a melee attack of any kind. Still in the same match, I added the keybind 'F' without changing the keybind Mouse 4. Suddenly, I was able to perform both standard melee attacks and takedowns by pressing Mouse 4. I was also able to perform standard melee attacks using left-click. Then I removed the keybind 'F' and was still able to perform melee attacks with Mouse 4 and left-click. (I didn't test a takedown at this point.)

This game behavior was quite confusing, and the solution (adding a keyboard keybind) was not obvious. It seems especially odd to me that this also affected the ability to melee attack by left-clicking. I hope this bug can be fixed so it doesn't happen again.
