Missing HUD

I'm having trouble with the weapon icon and remaining ammo not appearing in the bottom right of the screen. I've tried resetting the HUD settings and reinstalling the game, but it hasn't helped. The HUD hasn't completely disappeared; the gray box in the background where the remaining ammo is displayed remains. This happens in both single and multiplayer.
