Mystery input PC with (Xbox) controller

I play on PC with a Xbox controller. I don’t have stick drift. Controller is completely new and tested it.

But in battlefield I have mystery input from my controller. Sometimes on the spawn map my cursor moves very fast the the top left. If I touch the left stick, it’s gone.

Same happens when I want to set custom colors for enemy, teammates etc. It goes very fast to top left, selecting white. Again, if I touch the left stick it’s gone.

If I go into menu and try to select back to main menu I get a mystery input so my selection screen goes to the first selectable item.

Like I said, if I touch my left stick it’s gone and I don’t have a issue. I also don’t have issues in the game itself etc. But it looks like the game memorizes this input whenever it loads into a new select screen where the left stick is usable.

posted it also on reddit and I am not the only one with this problem

Edit: From further experience, I don't think it's caused by stick drift either, the cursor just starts at the top left of the screen.

Original: It is caused by stick drift. The issue is that the spawn screen UI doesn't respect your controller deadzone settings, so any slight amount of input will cause the cursor to move at full speed in that direction.

BF6's default deadzone setting is 8 and your left stick drifts less than that, but it still has a small amount of drift.

The spawn screen cursor also needs to have a smoother input curve to make small adjustments easier (small inputs should move the cursor slower), and selections need greater magnetism to improve ease and speed of selecting.

Same issues, but console. Stick drift is crazy with a new controller. Main issues are on spawn screen selecting a spawn point. Sometimes the cursor will push all the way into the top right corner

This is not stick drift it does it with every controller I use. I used three dualsense and 2 Xbox controllers and have the issue. This is an imput issue that I hope they fix.

Definitely not stick drift. Also see my reddit post. Multiple people have this with multiple controllers. I also have used many tools to test my new (NEW) controller. And it doesnt have stick drift.

I am also having this issue on PS5. It is not stick drift from the hardware. I have tested multiple controllers, none of which have any drift in other games.

I agree that it's not stick drift with further experience. It seems that the spawn selection cursor just starts at the top left every match (likely cos a programmer set its initial position at 0, 0 without thinking through what effect that would have), causing the map to scroll rapidly into the corner.

Same issue here. On multiple controllers for Xbox. It is not stick drift.

  • The same thing is happening to me. It mostly happens on the respawn map, where sometimes I respawn in the wrong vehicle or in a place where I don’t want to respawn.
