No response when opening/closing the leaderboard

For the past 5 matches, I've been experiencing an issue where, when I occasionally open the leaderboard or switch between the chat and the game, the in-game functionality breaks completely.

I can no longer spawn and just get stuck. Nothing is clickable: the game menu won't open, I can't close anything, nothing works at all.

The only thing I can still do is zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, nothing else.

In the end , I have to press Alt+F4 and restart the game.
