One-Way Transparent Terrain Geometry in Blackwell Fields

I've noticed that there are multiple spots in Blackwell Fields where certain faces of the terrain's geometry are completely transparent when viewed from 1 side. This allows you to see completely through the terrain and observe whatever is happening on the other side from that spot.

It's not clear if this is a graphics bug on my end or a design oversight. I feel like this could be easily abused, since this allows you to locate targets and track them through the map without ever revealing yourself or any weapon glint (until you peek out to take a  shot).
