Party Join Fails (1/1 Ghost Queue) & Incorrect Server Priority
Issue 1:
When I attempt to join a friend's active game session, even when there are multiple open player slots, the join attempt often fails.
Instead of successfully joining or receiving a clear error message (like "Server Full"), the game places me into a "ghost" queue. This queue screen displays "1/1," as if I am the only person waiting, but it never progresses or finds a game. It seems to be waiting for a non-existent player or a lobby that I failed to connect to.
Impact:
This bug completely blocks me from joining my friend. I have not found any way to fix this other than have the friend queue for another match.
Steps to Reproduce (as best as I can tell):
- Have a friend in an active game session with at least one open slot.
- From the main menu or friends list, select "Join Game" on that friend.
- Observe the connection attempt.
Expected Behavior:
I should successfully connect and be placed in my friend's game session.
Actual Behavior:
The join fails, and I get permanently stuck on a queue screen showing "1/1," forcing a game restart.
Issue 2:
The matchmaking system does not appear to prioritize the party leader's server region when creating or finding a match for a party with mixed geographical regions.
Example Scenario:
I (located in EU) am the party leader. I invite a friend (located in USA) to my party. We then queue for a match.
Expected Behavior:
Since I am the party leader, the matchmaking system should prioritize placing our party on EU servers. My friend from the USA should connect to my server, accepting a higher ping.
Actual Behavior:
The server selection appears to be random or defaults to the non-leader's region. In the scenario above, the game frequently places us on USA servers. This results in me, the party leader, having a very high ping and a poor gameplay experience, even though I am leading the party. The "party leader" status seems to have no effect on server selection.
