party members not getting put into game when host searches and finds game

We have a friend on Xbox that has this problem almost every round. We on pc automatically join the next game but our friend on xbox goes back to the main screen. It doesn't really matter if we join the next game or we start a new search from main menu. Even when our friend on Xbox is the party leader and he does the search he still doesn't join with us most of the time. We sometimes need to keep trying 8 to 10 times before it works
